Lisa & Scott: Rural Minnesota Wedding
I was contacted by Lisa after she'd seen me in action shooting a friend's wedding over the summer. As soon as we connected, it was clear that were a great match and I was so happy when they booked me to shoot their October 2015 wedding. We had a great time at their engagement portrait session at my Northeast Minneapolis studio, and I couldn't wait for their wedding. When the big day arrived, I marvelled at the beauty of the landscape as I made my way to Legacy Hill Farm in Southwest Minnesota: clear blue skies, a bright chill in the air, and an abundance of gorgeous fall colors.
Lisa and Scott are my favorite kind of couple: sweet and open, sophisticated, totally in love with and excited about each other, and experienced enough in life to know exactly what they're doing as they set out on a life together. Scott has three wonderful teenage children, and it was so touching to see how much Lisa loves them and how accepting they are of her (and happy for their dad) as their family takes on a new shape.
As the owner of a restaurant/bar in downtown Minneapolis, Lisa definitely had the professional touch when it came to the wedding day vision; however, the day felt completely free-flowing and genuine from beginning to end. The setting was wonderful, and the guests were having fun throughout. Best of all, my absolute favorite wedding band R Factor provided the live music, so naturally smiles, laughter, and dancing ensued late into the night.
Lisa and Scott have a love and relationship that is solid, sweet, and absolutely inspiring. I feel so fortunate to have been invited in to their world to document their beautiful day, and I must admit that these photographs make me a bit nostalgic for their beautiful fall wedding day!
Thanks so much, Lisa & Scott! Congratulations to you and your wonderful family!! xx
